Advanced Functional Materials for Oilfield Chemistry
Aims and Scope
With the continuous development of deep and ultra-deep oil and gas resources, unconventional oil and gas reservoirs, and other increasingly complex hydrocarbon resources, exploration and production operations are facing much more severe downhole conditions, including high temperature, high pressure, high salinity, complex formation structures, and strong fluid-rock interactions. These challenges have created an increasing demand for high-performance, multifunctional, and environmentally adaptable oilfield working fluids and associated functional materials.
This Special Issue aims to give an overview of the latest advances in oilfield materials and their applications in a diverse range of drilling fluid, fracturing fluid, well cement system, enhanced oil and gas recovery fluid, reservoir protection fluid, and other functional working fluids used in oil and gas engineering, with a focus on advances in novel stimuli-responsive polymers, smart and adaptive materials, polymer-nanomaterial composites, high-temperature and salt-resistant materials, environmentally friendly functional polymers, interface-regulating materials, and materials designed for extreme and unconventional reservoir conditions.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
