Materiale Plastice, operated by REVISTA DE CHIMIE SRL (Calea Plevnei 139A, Sector 6, 060011 Bucuresti, Romania) — collectively “we”, “us”, “our” — is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, process, and safeguard the personal data of our users, including authors, reviewers, editors, and website visitors, in compliance with applicable data protection laws including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

By accessing this website, submitting a manuscript, or creating an account on our submission platform, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

We may collect and process the following types of personal information:

  • Account & Profile Data: first name, last name, email address, institutional affiliation, academic degree, and ORCID iD.
  • Submission Data: details about the manuscripts you submit, co-author information, cover letters, and conflict of interest disclosures.
  • Reviewer Data: expertise keywords, review reports, and peer-review history.
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and website usage patterns (collected via cookies — see our Cookie Policy).
  • Financial Data: billing address and payment details for APC processing (handled by the bank; we do not store full card numbers).

How We Use Your Data

Your personal data is used for the following academic publishing purposes:

  • To manage your account and provide access to the submission system.
  • To process manuscript submissions, facilitate peer review, and manage the editorial workflow.
  • To publish accepted articles, ensuring proper attribution (displaying author names, affiliations, and corresponding-author email on published PDFs and HTML pages).
  • To communicate with you regarding submissions, reviews, or queries.
  • To send calls-for-papers, journal updates, or relevant academic content (you can opt out at any time).

Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. However, to operate as an academic publisher, we may share your data with:

  • Editors & Reviewers: necessary manuscript details are shared to facilitate peer review.
  • Indexing Services: published article metadata (including author names and affiliations) is deposited in databases such as Crossref, Scopus, Web of Science, DOAJ, and Sherpa Romeo to ensure academic discoverability.
  • Service Providers: third-party vendors who assist with website hosting, typesetting, and payment processing.
  • Legal Authorities: if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Note on the Public Record: Once an article is published, the authors' names, affiliations, and ORCID iDs become part of the permanent global scientific record. This metadata is distributed widely (Crossref, indexes, citing articles) and cannot be completely erased from the public domain.

We use cookies to ensure the website functions properly, to remember your login status, and to analyse traffic. See the dedicated Cookie Policy for the full list. In short:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: essential for platform operation (e.g., keeping you logged in during submission).
  • Analytics Cookies: used to track aggregate page views and article downloads.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent the submission system from working.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, or Switzerland, you have certain rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: update or correct inaccurate data via your profile dashboard or by email.
