Advanced Recycled Polymer Composites
Aims and Scope
1) The issue introduction includes the background and the importance of this research area. The increasing accumulation of plastic waste and the growing demand for sustainable materials have made polymer recycling one of the most important research areas in modern materials science. Recycled polymer composites represent a promising solution for reducing environmental pollution while simultaneously creating high-value materials for industrial, construction, transportation, automotive, packaging, electrical, and agricultural applications. Recent technological advancements have enabled the use of recycled thermoplastics, thermosets, elastomers, industrial waste, natural fibers, and various functional fillers to produce polymer composites with enhanced mechanical, thermal, dielectric, and durability properties. However, challenges remain in understanding the effects of recycling on polymer structure, processing behavior, long-term performance, compatibility between matrix and fillers, and environmental sustainability. This Special Issue aims to bring together researchers, engineers, and industrial practitioners working on innovative developments in recycled polymer composites, circular economy technologies, and sustainable materials engineering.
2) The aim and scope of the Special Issue shall be highlighted. The aim of this Special Issue is to publish high-quality original research papers, reviews, and case studies dedicated to the development, processing, characterization, performance evaluation, and industrial implementation of recycled polymer composites. The Special Issue welcomes interdisciplinary contributions covering both fundamental scientific investigations and practical engineering solutions aimed at improving the efficiency, performance, and sustainability of recycled polymer-based materials.
3) Suggested themes shall be listed. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to кecycled polymer composites, mechanical recycling of plastics, chemical recycling technologies, recycled thermoplastics and thermosets and polymer waste valorization.
