PEER REVIEW PROCESS

Peer reviewers Process

A very important part of the publication process is the peer review process: a process in which experts, volunteer peer reviewers, revise and improve the papers.

Materiale Plastice follows the traditional and is the most common method of reviewing
Single Blind Peer Review: the authors do not know who the reviewers are.

1. Paper Submission

The corresponding or submitting author submits Paper through online paper submission system on the Materiale Plastice's website: revmaterialeplastice.ro.

2. Paper Registration

IT specialist gives a registration number, completes the database with additional info regarding submitted paper and sends to corresponding author(s) a confirmation email - with all info necessary for online tracking status of the paper.

3. Similarity Test

A verification of the Paper is made by the Editor-in-Chief regarding the fulfillment of the similarity criterion using dedicated software.

4. Editor-in-Chief's Evaluation

The Editor-in-Chief performs a subsequent check regarding the fit for the purpose of the journal. After this 1st general selection, Editor-in-Chief assigns the Paper to a Editor.

5. Editor's Evaluation

The Editor makes a 2nd verification of the Paper: presentation, length, structure, style, composition, template.

If the Paper meets the quality conditions and depending on the field for which the manuscript is proposed, the Editor distributes it for evaluation to the qualified Reviewer appropriate to the field.

6. Invitation to Reviewer

An Invitation Email is send to the Reviewer. The Reviewer checks if the Paper is in his area of expertise, if he has any conflicts of interest and if he can provide an answer in a given period of time. The Reviewer can

ACCEPT the invitation (and he will get a deadline for response and a report form)
or
REJECT the invitation (he can recommend someone else).

7. Reviewer's Evaluation

The Reviewer prepares an in-depth report and submit the review to the Editor. He can proposes 3 recommendations:
1. Accept as it is
2. Reject
3. Revisions required
Reviewer will receive an automated 'Thank You Email'.

8. Editor's Decision

The Editor makes a 3rd evaluation and selection and sends a final decision email to the corresponding or submitting author.

- If Revisions are required, authors have to submit revised Paper for further rewiews.
- If the Paper is accepted, it is processed and the Galley Proof is sent to the corresponding or submitting author before it is made into pages for final production. The checked Galley Proof should be returned as soon as possible.

9. Production

1. Generate the DOI code
2. Adapting the final version of the Paper according with journal's publishing template
3. Archive the final version of the Paper in the journal's database
